Case/Field Work Internship at LGBT refugee shelter, Athens/Istanbul

This position is open to candidates interested in doing case-work for a shelter of LGBT+ refugees in Greece. Open for interns to come in 2019.

Intern responsibilities include daily case work needs such as hospital visits, coordinating with other NGO’s, upholding the rules, job search support, organizing activities/workshops, crisis management, social media, and administration. Interns report directly to the project manager. Interns will have weekly team meetings and access to psychosocial support/coaching if needed.

Candidates should have a background working with LGBT+ and refugee issues as well as a command of English with either Arabic, Turkish, French, Kurdish or Farsi as a plus. Interns are expected to understand grassroots style work and be very self-motivated. Because of the trauma and PTSD in most of our beneficiaries, candidates should have strong personal mental health and a background with social work/psychology. Internship length is 3-6 months with housing provided.
