Purpose of the job:

Under the close supervision of Deputy Representative, the Adolescent Development/Youth Officer provides coordination in Adolescents and Youth programme/project formulation, design, planning and management with strategic focus on the achievement of UNICEF's Organizational priorities.

The Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process through the application of theoretical and technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing and presenting technical programme information and learning organizational rules, regulations and procedures, to support the development and formulation of the adolescent development and participation projects.

  4. National and Local Capacity Building/Sustainability
  5. Partnership, Coordination and Collaboration

Required experience and skills:

  1. University degree in: Social Sciences, International Relations, Anthropology, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, Education, or another relevant technical field.
  2. Minimum one year of professional experience in social development planning and management in adolescent development/young people related areas.
  3. Experience in community mobilization, coordination and facilitation.
  4. Experience in planning, organizing and facilitating workshops and meetings.
  5. Knowledge of Youth Policy and youth networks and organizations.
  6. High level of analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  7. Fluency in Serbian and English is required. 
  8. Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
