Start and finish time of webinar
3-4pm ET; 9-10pm CET

This webinar will examine how gendered violence can create pathways for the girls who experience it into the juvenile justice system. It will also examine how social attitudes towards girls, especially girls of color and LGBTQ girls, contribute to their being criminalized for their own abuse, and identify strategies to develop survivor-centric, culturally competent, trauma-informed approaches to address the needs of girls involved in the justice system. The webinar will be delivered with an intersectional lens that emphasizes the need for a culturally competent approach to juvenile justice research, advocacy, and practices that put girls of color, LGBTQ girls, and gender non-conforming youth at the core of any juvenile justice reform efforts.
