About the webinar:
The Child Sex Trafficking Series has been revitalized for 2018. The updated modules include an emphasized public health approach to the issue, with more opportunities to review case studies. It is open to any professional with the desire to learn more about the issue of human trafficking. It is encouraged that interested individuals participate in the Fundamentals of Child Sex Trafficking before moving forward into any of the other modules, as they are presented on the basis that the audience has a general understanding of the issue. However, the modules do not need to be completed in any particular order and are open to all audiences.
The Hidden Victims module will focus on the lesser recognized victims of trafficking, including males and lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender (LGBT) youth. While these populations share characteristics of female trafficking victims, they have specific conditions and concerns that affect their risk and their experiences of exploitation. Understanding these unique factors will help professionals recognize possible victims, advocate for increased services and develop prevention strategies.
