Dr. Shabina Ahmed, MD, a fellow of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP)

Dr. Ahmed has 25 years of experience in the field of disability and child rights and is the Convener of the Indian Child Abuse and Neglect Chapter of the IAP in Eastern India. She is also the Founder Director of Assam Autism Foundation, and was awarded India’s National Award on Child Welfare in 2014.

Presented by the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) in partnership with Child Protection Hub for South East Europe, this webinar features Dr. Shabina Ahmed, MD, a fellow of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), who will discuss different types of disabilities, factors leading to increased vulnerability, and methods adopted by various countries to increase the empowerment of parents and children, as well as legislative efforts around the world to prevent the abuse of disabled children. 


The International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) is a multidisciplinary, non-profit organization focused on helping professionals who work with children to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect in all its forms.
