Limited knowledge and a narrow understanding of the phenomenon of sexual exploitation and abuse of children have made the image of the perpetrator of this antisocial behaviour interwoven with many prejudices among the professional, and especially among the general public. The consequence is a rather uniform approach in reaction to these perpetrators, which is primarily based on the criminal justice and penal systems.
• Do we know to what extent and in what way sexual exploitation and abuse of children occurs?
• Who are the perpetrators of sexual exploitation and abuse of children?
• Are the response measures to these perpetrators adequate and purposeful?
• What are the good practices in response to these perpetrators and to what extent are they applicable in our region?
• What can we improve and where to start?
Join Srđan Vujović, who will facilitate this event and a group of scientists and professionals who will try to answer these and other relevant questions at a virtual round table.
The virtual round table will be held on July 26, 2021. in the period from 10.00 am to 12:30 pm on the Child Protection Hub platform.
The event is organized within the project Prevention and Suppression of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, implemented by MFS EMMAUS, UNICEF and Save the Children.
