About the webinar:
Federica Toscano of Missing Children Europe and Rebecca O’Donnell, co-founder of Child Circle, will talk about preventing and responding to disappearances of unaccompanied children in Europe, based on recent research within the SUMMIT Project, a EU co-funded project which explored practices in seven European countries. They will introduce the practical handbook for professionals working with unaccompanied children, with its emphasis on building stronger multi-disciplinary cooperation within countries and across borders.

About the lecturers:
Rebecca O Donnell is an Irish lawyer, who has been working on EU law matters for over 20 years in Brussels. She is the co-founder of Child Circle, a Brussels based NGO focussing on child protection in EU law and policy (www.childcircle.eu). From 2007 to 2013, she worked with Save the Children EU Office, where her work focused on EU asylum and migration law and policy. She also works as an independent expert with a wide range of stakeholders on strategic advocacy initiatives and regional projects in the field of EU Justice and Home Affairs policies (www.odonnell-lind.eu).
Federica Toscano is the focal point on missing unaccompanied children at Missing Children Europe. She managed the EU co-funded project SUMMIT (Safeguarding Unaccompanied Migrant Minors from going Missing by Identifying Best Practices and Training Actors on Interagency Cooperation) and she coordinates the advocacy work for changes in policy and law to better support and protect migrant children at EU level. Federica holds an Italian law degree and a LLM in International and European Law from the Institute of European Studies of the Vrije Universiteit Brussels. Before Missing Children Europe, she worked at the Directorate for Asylum and Migration of the European Commission, at the European Parliament and in the international board of the European Law Students' Association, one of the world’s largest student organizations.
