The webinar is designed for: professionals in the field of child protection.

Objectives of the webinar:

The purpose of the webinar is to present some theoretical statements about supervision, as well as the experience of the supervisors and the supervisees. The online seminar will discuss the approaches and methods, tools used in supervision, good practices and the challenges of the Bulgarian model.

Foster care is essentially shared care for children at risk. It is a commitment of families who do not have professional expertise, but have personal experience and resources to care for a child. Foster parents are representatives of the community and have the task to integrate the child into the community, to socialize him, to invest care and feelings that will help him/her adapt and form as a person. On the other hand, social workers from the state child protection departments in charge of accommodation, as well as municipal social workers in charge of supporting accommodation, have a function in the system. Supervision in foster care is important for the formation of professional skills of foster parents, but also for improving the quality of the process.

More information about the webinar can be found on the website of the Know-How Center for the Alternative Care for Children, NBU (in Bulgarian).
