About the webinar:
“The capacity to express full human potential is related to the balance of developmental opportunities and challenges.” (Bruce D. Perry)
The Neurosequential Model offers a simple way to think about the brain and how it works, helps to understand what circumstances are optimal to help a child learn and what ways are the best to shape challenging behaviours.
When working with trauma-impacted children many professionals and services are faced with challenges and ineffective interventions as there is still little help in understanding and treating these cases. Our aim in this webinar is to introduce the trauma-informed lens, called the Neurosequential Approach, developed by Bruce D. Perry and the Child Trauma Academy. This approach gives a scientific background and guidelines for interventions that best meet the needs of these children.
We will discuss the principal guidelines of NMT and many practical examples from state care, educational and therapeutic settings in order to offer a better understanding of how children affected by trauma behave and to give practical ideas of how to support them.
