About the webinar:
The partnership between social workers and other professionals providing social services to children, and their clients' caregivers is crucial for a proper development of children. Among all kind of professionals working with children in Bulgaria there is a great need for more knowledge and practical skills on how to work with caregivers.
This webinar is designed for people working with children, recognizing the need to include parents and/or other caregivers in the process. During the webinar we will explore common challenges faced by professionals in the process of involving and effectively engaging parent(s), and offer a variety of techniques for overcoming difficulties in this process.
About the lecturer:
Denitza Bantchevska, Ph.D., received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Franklin University, and a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Science from The Ohio State University. She is also a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Ohio, USA. Since 2005, she has worked in USA extensively with homeless, substance-abusing and run-away children and their families as a researcher, a clinician, and later as an executive director of a drop-in center for homeless youth. These experiences demonstrate her strong commitment to recognizing and meeting the needs, and systematically studying marginalized populations, while striving to foster effective and innovative approaches toward ameliorating some of the most acute social problems in today’s society.
