The Open University offers free and short online course exploring the topic of critical social work.

Being very interactive and reflective, the course is designed specifically for social work practitioners. It invites professionals to learn from written and audio materials while sharing SAGE publications and interdisciplinary discussions between professors and practitioners.

The course aims at helping social workers to apply the critical paradigm into their direct, day-to-day practice, this is why three main subjects are in its center:

  1. Understanding critical social work
  2. Constructive social work
  3. Critical use of language

The online course is self-paced and available in English.

More information about certificates can be found here.
