This week,  partners’ in the “Uniting Forces to address gender-based violence against children and youth” project participate in an exchange visit in Oslo.  The project is run by Terre des hommes Romania with the financial support of Active Citizens Fund Romania, programme funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the SEE Grants.  

The goal of the meeting is to discuss common work experience and share ideas and good practices in the field of Child Rights with a focus on addressing Violence against children, specifically Gender Based Violence, in order to prepare an application together for the Active Citizens Fund Romania.

 

The Fund for Bilateral Relations allows supporting activities aiming at strengthening bilateral relations between civil society organisations and other entities from Romania and the Donor States, the search for partners for donor partnership projects prior to or during the preparation of a project application, the development of such partnerships and the preparation of an application for donor partnership project, networking, exchange, sharing and transfer of knowledge, technology, experience and best practice between civil society organisations and other entities from Romania and Donor States.

 

The main two main partners involved in this mobility project are: Fafo Institute for Labour and Social Research, Oslo, Norway, and  The Children’s House Oslo, Norway

 

Fafo Institute for Labour and Social Research is an independent research foundation, which conducts social science and research on a wide area of working life, welfare state and living conditions issues, human trafficking, gender-based violence and migration issues, and also on community development related aspects.

 

"The main objective is to provide a better service for child victims of abuse by means of medical examinations, judicial interviews and treatment being offered under one roof." The Childrens Houses were conceived of as multidisciplinary competence centres, also providing services for mentally impaired adults. They form part of a project between the Ministry of Justice and the Police, the Ministry of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion, and the Ministry of Health and Care.
