The suspended Riace`s mayor Mimmo Lucano became known for supporting pro-migrant policies and welcoming migrants and refugees. Shortly after he faced accusations of corruption and had to leave the function and the town in line with the court order, but denying all charges. In the meantime, Lucano launched a new initiative aiming to support the integration of migrants in Raice, small southern Italian city. The initiative is called "E stato il vento" (There was wind), and includes projects proposed already last year that got blocked after the corruption related accusations were made.
