As Klix.ba reports, the Lipa migrant camp, located a few kilometres from Bihać, does not provide basic conditions for occupancy.
Currently, the military tents they have set up are leaking, there is no running water, and stored water is freezing as temperatures drop to -15 degrees Celsius.
Since the basic human necessity of water is lacking for migrants in Lipa, they go to bathe in nearby streams, which are also used for washing clothes. In addition, migrants melt snow for water.
Most migrants don’t want to stay here as it is not a life worthy for man, says Armin Durgut, a photographer and Pixsell journalist.
The Italian Red Cross arrived in Lipa to help a sister organization from BiH. "The situation is very difficult and we are doing everything we can to help people," said Husein Kicic, president of the Red Cross.
Migrants are expected to spend the winter in such conditions — without water, electricity and heating —despite the fact that in a fully functioning camp, migrants are only expected to stay 3 months. Currently, the camp has about 800 occupants and is managed by the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
