The report describes the difficulties of refugees especially families with children in a pandemic situation, using the example of a struggling mother with two children in Bulgaria.

The closure of COVID -19 and the increase of gender-based violence (GBV) have worsened the lives of refugees, especially those of mothers and children who are not only exposed to financial stress and tensions but also struggle to adapt to a new life with lower-paid jobs and fewer social opportunities.

During this period, a civil society organization such as the Council of Refugee Women (CRW), supported by UNICEF, continues to help the vulnerable population (more than 1,200 children and caregivers) by contacting the Child Advocacy Center operated by Animus Association. Like this family, the Center provides a "one-stop" place for vulnerable children and families, where they receive psychosocial support, health services, legal advice, and consultations even in pandemic lockdown.
