Overview of the webinar:

The overall objective of the webinar is to analyse the cross-cutting elements between child safeguarding and the steps undertaken to ensure the physical wellbeing of children victims and witnesses in the Barnahus. It will aim to retake again the concept of the DO NO HARM and explore the potential risks and prevention measures during the medical forensic examination, the treatment and rehabilitation. The importance of having safeguarding policies and procedures in place will be reiterated and providing adequate trainings for the staff involved in these processes in order to meet the best interest of the child and avoid any unintentional harm. 

Target audience: Medical staff involved in Barnahus, Professionals from the social welfare system and psychologists, case workers, Law enforcement agencies, other relevant Barnahus staff

  • Child Safeguarding and PSEAH (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment)
  • Potential safeguarding risks and mitigation strategies encountered during the forensic examination, referral, and treatment (including physiotherapy) – focus on integration

  • Key recommendations for safeguarding in the context of physical well being
