This research study is aimed at presenting an overview of various legal aid systems for children in conflict with the law, with special focus on five countries: Belgium, France, Hungary, Romania and the  Netherlands.

One of the goals of this research has been to identify challenges related to legal aid access for children in conflict with the law, quality standards, training needs and capacities at European level.   

The research study has been carried out within CLEAR-Rights project, which is being coordinated by Terre des hommes regional office in Europe, implemented in partnership with Alliance of Lawyers for Human Rights, Defence for Children Belgium, Defence for Children the Netherlands, PILnet and Terre des hommes Romania, and funded by the ”Justice” programme (2014-2020) of the European Union.
