How do children from Ukraine experience the war? How have children’s rights been impacted? Terre des hommes Foundation and the Centre for Children’s Rights at Queen’s University Belfast launched a survey to ask children themselves.

The survey aims to reveal children’s views and experiences regarding their rights during the full-scale war in Ukraine which started in February 2022. The results will help to inform and improve policies and practices in both humanitarian interventions and longer-term reconstruction.

Co-designed and consulted with internally displaced children in Ukraine, the survey addresses the full spectrum of children’s rights as defined by the Convention on the Rights of the Child, such as the right to health care, education, play, to be safe and to have their views taken seriously.

All children from Ukraine aged between 8 and 17 years are encouraged to participate in the survey. Children could be currently living in Ukraine or in another country. The questionnaire is anonymous and should only take 20 minutes to complete. The survey will remain open until 31 March 2023.
