How could a mask-wearing teddy bear make working with vulnerable children easier for social workers?

Many social workers (in the UK) face challenges on the job due to the drastic measures taken to curb the COVID-19 pandemic. They check that vulnerable children are safe and sound in their homes physically, or online through apps which young people enjoy using. At the same time, local institutions have been looking for creative and fun ways to help children overcome the fear and anxiety caused by the pandemic.

The Oxfordshire County Council has come up with a COVID Teddy Bear to reassure children during social workers' check-in routines; Teddy must put on a mask, keep a distance, and maintain good hygiene. Teddy is both a sign of comfort and a model of good pandemic practices.
