This video lesson explains what are the needs of the child and why it is important that these are satisfied. The child has both physiological needs (to feed, to have a place to live, to be protected, cared for, etc.) and psychosocial needs (to be loved, supported, accompanied, integrated, educated, comfortable, part of a group, to understand the meaning of life, etc.). Fulfilling the children needs ensures their complete development.
This lesson is part of the Video-Course "Key Aspects of Child Protection" produced by Terre des hommes Moldova. The course is made of 10 video-lessons (7 available in English) for specialists working in child protection or are in contact with children in their work, but also for the general public, regarding key aspects of child protection, particularly focusing on the protection of children in contact with the justice system. The goal of this educational cycle is to improve existing knowledge and practices, as well as strengthen the skills necessary in child education or in the work with children at risk.
