Working with children is very challenging work. This is a statement that will cause a lot of teachers and educators to nod their heads and if my statement is strong enough, to laugh.

In this line, as a teacher myself, I have found it very difficult to cope and regulate my emotions while working with children and at the same time finding new and interactive ways to make my work easier and to get as much of the little ones attention as I can.

In this post, we would like to promote a website that we think would be very useful to teachers, social workers, educators, students who intend to specialize in education. Any other person interested is very welcome to visit the page.

Edutopia (edutopia.org) was founded by George Lucas in 1991. Its mission is to transform K-12 education so that all students can acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to thrive in their studies, careers, and adult live. While this foundation (and e-resource) is directed to students we believe that it would be a valuable resource for everyone working not only in the education field but also anyone else working with children.

Some of the topics you can find are:

  • Brain-Based Learning
  • Assessment
  • Integrated Studies
  • Social and Emotional Learning
  • Teacher Development
  • Technology Integration
