Guide to stay home or be outside alone

The NSPCC, a leading charity for children from the UK, has published a guide that can be useful to parents and guardians when deciding whether to leave a child at home or allow them to go outside alone.

The guide provides practical advice, as well as some of the risks to consider before making a decision. It discusses a child's opinion about the idea, and who they can turn to in cases that require urgent action.

The guide provides checklists for parents and children to use together when making a decision and preparing to enact it. There are also questions about what to do in case of an accident, an encounter with a stranger, or if another dangerous situation occurs.
