Human trafficking is often seen as a pre-existing problem and it can be even abandoned during the natural disaster and the emergency. However, for traffickers, each disaster signals a sudden availability of potential prey. In order to, minimize and guide this issue The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has launched an online training course.

This course addresses the definition of human trafficking and its features, as well as the difference between it and migrant smuggling and other related crimes.
It also reviews the history of this crime and explains why it is important to consider the various profiles of people who are involved in migration processes.

The course is available in the following languages: English, French, Spanish and Arabic on IOM’s E-Campus website.

The course is self-paced and approximately needs 3 hours to complete.
