According to the news, Bernard van Leer Foundation introduced Tim Gill’s new book named Playground: How child-friendly planning and design can save cities.

The author of the book is an independent scholar and advocate on early childhood who has worked extensively with the Bernard van Leer Foundation’s Urban95 program. The book’s main points are:

  • Explaining what child-friendly urban planning is and why it matters by giving examples from Rotterdam, Tirana, Antwerp, Recife, Oslo, Ghent, Vancouver, and London.
  • Setting out the key principles and tools for implementation.
