School of Medicine and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Rijeka, Croatia is organizing the first interdisciplinary international conference on “Child maltreatment and well-being: Contemporary issues, research and practice” which will be held in Rijeka, July 7-8, 2017. The conference is sponsored by the Croatian Ombudsman for Children.

The aim of the conference is to bring together an interdisciplinary community of scientists and professionals working in the field of child maltreatment and child wellbeing and to exchange latest research, good practice, strategies and policies on children’s welfare. Participants are invited to submit abstracts for posters and presentations. Abstracts of recent research on contemporary issues regarding children, or evaluations and suggestions on good practice are expected to be sumbited. After the conference, selected papers will be published in a conference book. A double-layered blind review process will be undertaken to select suitable conference papers to make up for chapters in this book to be published by the end of 2017.
