The global refugee crisis has signified the displacement of millions of individuals. A significant portion of these displaced persons are minors, who have barely experienced life.

At the tender age of seven, Malak, a Syrian refugee girl, had to abandon her friends, her belonngings, and much of her life to bare cold nights amid aggressive waters, to hopefully achieve the normal life she is entitled to.

In this short video produced by UNICEF, this brave seven year old describes her and her family's boat journey from Syria to Greece, which further allows us to understand a fraction of the obstacles Malak and much of the contemporary global refugee population front.
