Tirana, 21 February 2020
A delegation from Montenegro, headed by Mr. Zeljko Spalevic, Head of the Department for the Fight against Trafficking in Human Beings in Montenegro, and representatives of the Border Police and Ministry of Social Affairs, visited Albania on the invitation of Ms. Rovena Voda, the National Anti-Trafficking Coordinator.
The purpose of the meeting was to increase cross-border protection of child victims and potential victims of trafficking.
Technical experts within the delegations shared information, experiences and best practices for identifying and referring potential and real victims of trafficking. Direct contact was established between the Offices of the National Coordinators in both countries to help with transnational case management and implementation of the Unified Standard Operating Procedures signed between the parties in 2016.
This meeting is the first in a series which aims to increase operational-level cooperation between the two countries and to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fight against trafficking in persons.
