[International] Children with Autism and COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic is ongoing. Given that there is still no cure or vaccine for this disease, it is important that we take preventative measures.

These measures are the same for all people, including people with autism. However, it should be borne in mind that children with autism may also have some specific support needs conditioned by difficulties in social communication, stereotypical behavior patterns, and other specificities that accompany autism.

Children with autism can exert strong resistance to change. Closing kindergartens, schools and other facilities that children with autism visit on a daily basis can create additional tension.
