In the framework of the project Mario, three sociological surveys were conducted in 2009 in the districts of Montana, Vratza as well as Sofia in Bulgaria to assess the awareness of the problems of child prostitution and child trafficking for sexual purposes among the first concerned, children themselves. The analysis explores the level of awareness of schoolboys and girls on the phenomenon of child trafficking but also provides insights into the criteria that makes children vulnerable to fall prey to child trafficking from their own perspective. Expert opinions were also gathered informing the analysis with professional knowledge over this phenomenon. The analysis is only available in Bulgarian but a comprehensive summary is also provided at the end of the document.
