Open access resources to support child and family social care practitioners

A team of researchers at Coventry University, in collaboration with Research in Practice, has created these open-access resources tailored for frontline practitioners. 

The available resources:

  • Open access publication

This briefing, along with the tools it encompasses, provides guidance for social care practitioners on effectively collaborating with minoritized children and young people. The aim is to facilitate exploration of their identities, address identity needs, and foster positive identity development.

  • A podcast

This podcast emphasizes essential insights derived from recent research that delves into the identity needs of minoritized children and young people in care. The conversation centers on the dynamic nature of identity, shedding light on how practitioners can effectively explore the significance of ethnicity and religion in the lives of children and young individuals.

  • Workshops

This interactive open-access workshop aims to delve into the experiences and expressions of identity among care-experienced children and young people, with a particular focus on those from minoritized ethnic and religious backgrounds.

This is an open access workshop for professionals working within children’s social care, running between January and March 2024.
