Comparative Report

Psychological itinerant counselling desks were piloted in 15 secondary schools in Bulgaria, Slovenia, Italy, Greece and Cyprus for a period of 9 months, from October 2022 to June 2023.

The aim of the desks was to provide individual and group counselling to students, school staff and parents in order to increase school and family capacity to identify and prevent incidents of gender-based violence among teenagers and young people.

The initiative was part of the project "REBOOT NOW - Preventing of gender-based violence in schools after the lockdown", (co-funded by the CERV programme of the European Commission)

As a result of the work of Psychological itinerant counselling desks a positive impact on the emotional well-being of students is reported. Also, more children and parents were able to receive timely psychological support, which the school psychologist could hardly provide due to his workload.

After the end of the pilot project, one municipality in Slovenia became a partner and financed the continuation of the mobile psychological offices in all schools in its territory. The other countries that participated in the project are still in the process of looking for funds and ways to secure the future of the service.

More information on the practice of mobile psychological offices can be found in the link below.
