The Non-Violent Childhood - Action Plan on the Prevention of Violence against Children 2020-2025 brings together policies for the prevention of violence against children aged 0-17. The Plan focuses as well on early identification of violence and serves as the referral of children and young people for help and support.

Physical and emotional violence, including bullying, harassment, discrimination and neglect may cause severe physical and emotional harm to children and young people and exclusion from social relations in the short and long term. To improve the position of the child victim in the current service, care and crime systems, the Action Plan covers the following areas:

  • protective factors, risk factors and consequences,
  • statistical review of violence against children and their rights,
  • issues related to inclusion and multidisciplinary cooperation,
  • prevention of mental and physical violence and sexual violence in various operating environments,
  • issues related to the situation of children and young people in vulnerable situations, as well as specific issues such as trafficking in human beings and honour-related violence.

For a more detailed overview and guidance, please check the Action Plan.
