About the webinar:
RISE and Family for Every Child will host a webinar to discuss the drivers of sexual violence affecting boys, and the existing intervention practice in this area.
Omattie Madray and Zenainda Rosales will present an extensive study recently carried out which analyzed over 100 documents and conducted over 20 interviews to gain insights on practices of organisations supporting and caring for boys affected by sexual violence in their recovery process.
Presenters will further look into how social norms around gender influence care for boys affected and will discuss what is needed to ensure quality alternative care.
About the presenters:
Omattie Madray is the Executive Director of ChildLinK Inc in Guyana. Over the past 12 years, she has lead the transition of EveryChild Guyana, a country office of EveryChild UK, to ChildLinK, a leading local NGO that advocates for policy changes and contributes to Guyana’s child protection system to safeguard children. Omattie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, a Diploma in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
Zenainda Rosales is a licensed social worker, graduated from Concordia College and holds a Masters on Clinical Social Work from the University of the Philippines. She is the co-founder and current Executive Director of the Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Sexual Abuse (CPTCSA). With more than 20 years of work in the field of child protection, Ms. Rosales has developed her expertise in the areas of program and project planning, advocacy, partnership building, mental health counseling, research and capacity development.
