For several months the Kosovan Directorate for Investigation of Organized Crime, in close cooperation with the police departments of some European countries (Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia and Italy) and Europol, has carried out intensive investigations regarding the activities of a well organized criminal group.
The group was operating in the above mentioned states, where it continuously carried out organized criminal activities such as migrant smuggling. In the press release issued by the police, it was announced that eight suspects were arrested for "organized crime and smuggling of migrants".
