On October 21&22, 2019, the State Prosecutor of Kosovo started the marking of the Crime Victims’ Rights Week with the opening of the International Conference of  10 years of awareness on “Justice restoring the victims’dignity ”.

Lawyers, prosecutors, judges and partners of Justice and Victim’s rights protection advocates such as International embassies and NGOs were gathered to discuss what it has been achieved until now,and the remaining challenges to be combated, in order to achieve justice and respect the rights  guaranteed by the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Kosovo.

Our Project Coordinator on Juvenile Justice  in TDH Kosovo, Ms. Fjolla Hoxha, as part of the panel, provided an overview of Terre des hommes work in initiating the New Law on Child Protection and the great work and collaboration of Kosovo institutions and different NGOs for the approval of the Law by the Kosovo Parliament

Message of the State Chief Prosecutor Mr. Alexander Lumezi marking the 10 anniversary of the ”Crime Victims’ Rights Week“

It is my assessment as a State Chief Prosecutor that victims’ rights have been at the forefront of marking this Week throughout the years. This was followed by a serious warning for those that violated victim's rights, because such rights are guaranteed by the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Kosovo and as one of the fundamental rights it should be protected at all cost by state institutions.

There will be no absence of my engagement as Chief State Prosecutor and that of all other relevant mechanisms in addressing cases of crime victims in a fair manner during all proceedings, while the perpetrators receive the deserved sentences.
