Every two years, the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) publishes World Perspectives on Child Abuse, a collection of data and information on child maltreatment policies, laws, and programs around the world. We gather this information by surveying CAN professionals and government officials with access to country-level data.

IPSCAN is currently looking for survey respondents to represent the following Eastern European and Baltic countries: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.

Those who agree to participate will be sent an online survey in November 2019. The survey will probe a few key topics: the extent of child abuse in your country; government policies; the availability of different services for abused children and their families; and the barriers regarding the prevention of child maltreatment. Responses will be compiled in World Perspectives on Child Abuse (14th Edition), which will be distributed to participants at the ISPCAN International Congress in Adelaide, Australia, in November 2020 as well as through ISPCAN’s website and network. All contributors will be acknowledged.

If you are interested in participating in our survey, or if you can suggest others in your country who could contribute, please contact Heather Hein at resources@ispcan.org.
