This webinar aims at presenting the Become Safe initiative in Italy, where it has specifically targeted unaccompanied children, with an overview of the context of application and approach focused on prevention and protection.
This webinar will tackle the following points:
- Brief overview of the National Law 47/2017 on the protection of unaccompanied foreign children and of the Italian context

The overall objective of BECOME SAFE is to improve the protection of migrant children and young people victims or at risk of violence, and uphold their rights to assistance and quality victims care in the EU. To achieve this, the project deploys three complementary strategies to promote systemic and sustainable improvements in the protection of children and youth on the move. It does so through working hand in hand with children and young people themselves, as well as professionals in contact with them.

Caterina Parodi – DCI Italy - Child safeguarding and research – Specialized in International and European Law, human rights and democratization processes. In DCI Italy she is responsible of the Child Safeguarding and wellbeing policy as well as of research and analysis.
Martina Finessi – DCI Italy – Project management – Specialized in African and Asian studies and intercultural communication. In DCI Italy she is supporting the coordination of activities, in particular those related to migration focusing unaccompanied and separated children and mentoring programs for young migrants.
