Croatian association of social workers invite you to participate in the VIII Conference of Social Workers to be held in Šibenik from 18 to 20 October 2017. This year the conference will be devoted to thinking of social work in the context of numerous internal and external social changes.

The conference entitled “Social Work in a World of Change” aims to talk about a number of external social changes that leave a mark on social problems and the lives of users of social work, but also about changes that occur within the profession. Experts are invited to share their experiences or research results in one of the thematic areas, all for the purpose of strengthening the capacity of the profession to adequately cope with its unpredictable reality.

WHO THE CONFERENCE IS INTENDED FOR

Experts from the country and abroad who work in the field of social work:

  • social workers, psychologists, social pedagogues, rehabilitators, lawyers and other professionals involved in social welfare, health care, education, justice and other state administration and local self-government bodies,
  • civil society experts, humanitarian and religious organizations,
  • students (undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies) of social humanistic orientation,
  • to all those interested in the subject of social change in the context of helping professions

  • Influence of economic, political and social changes on the lives of beneficiaries of social work
  • Unknown faces of known social problems, the altered everyday life of vulnerable groups
  • New areas of social work practice: 
    • social work in the context of migration and war conflicts, 
    • multicultural social work, 
    • green social work
  • Social work in the context of value changes
  • Technological changes as sources of new social risks
  • Modern technology and social work: opportunities and challenges in education and social work practices
  • Changes in social work: a new paradigm of the profession
  • Social work in the process of political and legislative reform of the social welfare system
  • European Union and European funds as a new framework for the development of social work practice
  • New trends and necessary changes in the education of social workers
  • Internationalization of Education and Practice of Social Work

Official language of the Conference will be Croatian.
