Tirana Municipality has announced the starting of the two months campaign called “Together against the Exploitation of Children”. Symbolically this campaign started on April 12th, which marks the international day for street connected children, and is planned to end on June 12th 2022, the World’s Day Against Child Labour.

Under the leadership of Field Community Centre and Child Protection Unit in the Social Services Directory of the municipality, the campaign intends to bring together key public and non-public structures and organisations focused on the protection of children from economic exploitation and in risk of abuse, on the empowerment of their families including those of children in street situations.

Based on the main message “Together against the Exploitation of Children” the campaign will involve different means of communication and approaches to raise awareness on the negative consequences of giving money to children in street situations, the consequences of exploitation for work and begging, and will promote the reporting system and social services for protection, empowerment of children and families, etc.

Youth from the IMPACT project as well as students of the Social Sciences Faculty, who are part of the volunteering and the professional internship “Mentor Me”, will be involved in delivering the main massages of the campaign not only to the groups in risk but to the whole community surrounding them. Some of the campaign’s main activities will involve the organisation of informative sessions in the selected schools and neighbourhoods, online forums and webinars, communications through visual media and social media, a flash mob and so on.
