Basic helping skills 
Goal of the webinar: Understand basic helping skills and learn how to use them in communication with person in distress.
This webinar focuses on the essential counselling skills required for all types of counselling or communication with person who is in distress.

Basic helping skills include:  
•    confidentiality, 
•    empathy, 
•    praising the openness, 
•    validating, 
•    active listening 
•    stress management and
•    problem management skills.

 All of these skills are used to build mutual trust, assess the emotional state and general condition of the person and teach the person some techniques of coping with stress, identify key issues or problems and assess their importance, explore options to address these issues and agree on a plan of action with achievable objectives.
