A lecture and workshop on the topic of Creating Self-Organized Learning Communities and facilitating Intentional Culture Creation" - at home, in the classroom, and in the world will be held on 27th and 28th July in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event is organized by the Community for Democratic Education, and its guests and co-hosts are Erik Bear and Sierra Allen, the creators of Agile Leaning Centers, centers that develop self-directed learning and are popular all over the world. They will, together with the Community for Democratic Education, hold a two-hour evening presentation on 27th July (Friday) and a one day workshop (6-8 hours) on 28th July (Saturday).

The lecture and the workshop will discuss the following questions:

  • How does the group come together?
  • How do we work together to figure out what we want to do as a group?
  • The building of community with children as a group and working with the dynamics of individualism and collectivism in the context of the world we currently live in.
