"Children in the Social Welfare System in 2016" is the fourth annual report in which statistics on children in the social protection system are presented (the first report was published in 2013).

The report compiled and published statistical data on children from the following institutions: social welfare institutions - social welfare centers, housing agencies, Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans' Affairs and Social Affairs and the Republic Institute for Statistics.

The report presents statistics from the following areas:

1. Children in the social welfare system
2. Children without parental care
3. Children victims of domestic violence
4. Children with behavioral problems
5. Children from families in crisis
6. Children with disabilities
7. Materially endangered children
8. Expenditures for child protection from the budget of the Republic of Serbia
