Start and finish time of webinar
5pm

In the first webinar of the planned four, we will discuss the purposes and goals of supervision, who are the participants in supervision, and the basic functions and activities of supervision.

At this webinar, we will be joined by guest Lilja Cajvert, an international expert for supervisory education and practice.

There are a number of definitions that emphasize the different characteristics and essence of supervision.

“Supervision is a process in which the facilitator, with the help of the supervisor, achieves a better understanding of both the user and himself as part of the client-social worker system, thus changing his work and developing his competence” (Hawkins and Shohet, 2006: 57).

“Supervision is an individual reflection on what a professional sees, thinks, feels and does in the direction of understanding one's own mental and behavioral strategies, in order to gain new perspectives and look at one's professional activity enriched with various alternatives, to finally be able to consciously decide on changes in their work. The purpose of such supervision is more competent professional practice, which means that supervision focuses on certain difficulties and problems in relation to professional activities ”(Kobolt, 1995, in Kobolt and Žorga, 1999: 15).
