On Friday, September 16, the second national workshop was held as part of the REVIS project at the International Hotel in Zagreb. 25 students and 11 facilitators from 9 schools participated in the workshop. At this stage of the project, the main activities are to organize participatory action workshops with children in all project countries to identify opportunities to intervene in cases of peer violence and challenge barriers of bystander inaction.
The focus of the workshop was on the presentations of campaign ideas on how to stop peer violence that the students presented in front of everyone. The students had the opportunity to hear the opinions of colleagues from other schools, as well as the consultant Anamarija Vuić and our guest lecturer Boris Miletić. In addition to experience working with children, Anamarija and Boris have rich experience in marketing, so the students had the opportunity to hear specific guidelines on what to change, add and in which direction to continue with their idea. The students presented diverse ideas and gave us different views about peer violence and how we can approach it in prevention. Earlier through the project, the students emphasized that they do not often have the opportunity to participate in projects in this way and get the opportunity to have their voices heard.
How satisfied the students themselves were can be seen in the comments they left in the evaluations at the end of the workshop when asked what they liked:
"All presentation and campaign ideas presented by the students."
"People's creativity."
"We received very good and useful feedback, and the lecturer found something positive and useful in everything."
"I liked that we got feedback from others that helped us develop our idea further."
"I liked the whole concept of the workshop and the fact that it wasn't monotonous and boring."
"The fact that I met new people who are very inspiring."
The selection of the best campaign will take place in mid-October, and the winning school will receive a cash prize to spend on the execution of the campaign they designed.
We would like to thank all the participants once again for the wonderful gathering and all the effort they put into designing the campaigns. Without revealing much about the content of the campaigns, we want to announce that we are expecting a content-filled fall and that we can't wait to see the students in action!
