The webinar aims to present the options which the system of monitoring indicators developed by the Know-How Center for Alternative Care for Children, New Bulgarian University provides for:
• enhancing the competence of professionals in implementing the child-centered approach in their work
• improving the quality of childcare by applying monitoring indicators as a point of reference.

About the lecturer:
Valentina Simeonova has many years of experience in the fields of education and social policy. She worked as a teacher in the field of education, as a head of the "Prosveta" Department and a state expert at the Ministry of Education and Science. She has experience as a teacher in programs related to interactive learning methods and critical thinking development; civic education; debates; communication skills and conflict solving. She has experience in the field of children's rights and protection. As a director of the Standards and Analyzes Directorate at the State Agency for Child Protection, she was the head of teams that carried out two national assessments of the specialized institutions for children. In the period August 2009 - March 2013, was Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy with responsibility for social assistance and social services policy, children's policy and disability policy.
2013 -2014 she was the head of a team that has carried out a national monitoring of the Ministry of Education and Science qualification program.
From 2015 she has been a member of the team of the Know How Centre for Alternative Care for Children at the NBU and a project coordinator for establishing a child-centered monitoring system in Bulgaria.
