At high school SŠ Dr. Antuna Barca Crikvenica (Croatia), the first training within the project CARING: Challenging social and gender norms to reduce violence against children in schools took place on January 4th and 5th. The training was led by project facilitators - psychologist Jasna Borbelj Čeko and pedagogue Mia Lakotić, for their 13 colleagues who are members of the School Board. The training was prepared based on the Curricula ond gender-based violence prevention.

Participants expressed extremely positive impressions after the education. They highlighted the stimulating and motivating atmosphere, engaging and useful activities. They acquired new methods and skills applicable in their daily work. They also emphasized the value of the training in recognizing and intervening in cases of violence, becoming familiar with gender terminology and children's participation, as well as the need to build a supportive school environment. The training provided them with a deeper understanding of the importance of their role in ensuring a safe environment for all students.

In the coming months, training sessions will follow in other schools and countries as part of the project. We are pleased that the first experience of implementing the training was so successful. Suggestions, proposals, and experiences were conveyed at the coordination meeting of project partners and will serve as assistance in future training.
