The guideline, published in August 2020 by the Albanian Ministry of Education and ASCAP, which aims to equip pre-university education level with security measures against COVID 19, sets out three main scenarios for the development of the learning process. Scenarios will be implemented depending on the school infrastructure, the number of students and the spread of the virus. Schools are encouraged to collaborate with parents and the community to develop and implement strategies tailored to their specific needs.
According to the first scenario the teaching will take place in the physical premises of the school maintaining the physical distance if the pandemic situation is stable. One-shift schools, with a small number of students (under 20 people) and which meet the protocol of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection for hygiene and physical distancing, will develop as usuall the teaching process. If the number is large, they will reduce the lesson time to 30 minutes (from 45) and build a graph for students entering and leaving to avoid clutter, and divide the class into coordinated groups or sub-groups.
The second scenario envisages a combined lesson in the classroom and at a distance from home (one week at school and one week at home), maintaining all the rules of hygiene and physical distance, in case there will be an aggravated situation of the pandemic. Schools with 1 shift but with a large number of students build a graph for the entry and exit of students to avoid their accumulation, without affecting the start and end time of school and divide each class into two groups. In case the school operates in shifts, it takes measures for the division into 4 sub-shifts.
The third scenario only envisages learning from home if the situation worsens significantly. In this scenario, the school will design the school schedule for distance learning, online with a dedicated platform akademi.al. Classes with large numbers of students can be divided into groups or teaching with the whole class can be realized if the online platform creates this opportunity. The lesson time will be 25 minutes. For this scenario, instructions for organization, methodological guidelines and guidelines for student assessment can be found in the relevant chapters in the MES guide.
